FAQ
Booking & Policies
How do I book a consultation or appointment?
Fill out the booking form on the Contact page. You’ll be asked to share your ideas, placement, sizing, and availability. Once submitted, you’ll hear back within 7–10 days.
Do you require a deposit?
Yes. Deposits are required to hold your appointment and cover design time. Deposits are non-refundable and applied toward the agreed cost of your tattoo. If a deposit isn’t received within 48 hours of booking, the time slot may be released.
What is your cancellation policy?
If you need to cancel or reschedule, please give at least 48 hours’ notice. Each client is allowed one reschedule without penalty. Last minute changes may result in losing your deposit. Please respect the time reserved for you, as it can’t easily be filled by someone else.
Do you respond to social media messages?
To keep everything organized, booking inquiries are only handled through the official inquiry form or email. Messages sent to Instagram or Facebook DMs may not be seen. Please use the booking form on the Contact page for the fastest response.
Studio Rules & Requirements
Can I get tattooed if I’m under 18?
No. Maine state law requires all tattoo clients to be at least 18 years old, regardless of parental consent. A valid photo ID is required at every appointment.
Can I bring a friend or my child?
For safety and comfort, young children are not allowed in the studio. You may bring one guest for support.
Do you offer piercings?
No. Wildewood Ink is a tattoo only studio.
Artwork & Design
Can I see my design ahead of time?
Designs are shown the day of, or a couple of days before your appointment (based on communication). You’re encouraged to share thorough references and inspiration during your consultation and on the booking form so the design reflects your vision. Small tweaks can typically be made at the appointment.
Do you do fan art or custom designs?
Yes! Wildewood Ink specializes in custom tattoos - from ornate, nature inspired pieces to whimsical fan art. Every design is created to be meaningful and unique.
Do you cover old tattoos?
Cover ups are possible, but always require a consultation first. Not all tattoos can be fully covered, and design flexibility is important for the best results.
Pricing & Payment
How much do tattoos cost?
Pricing varies based on size, detail, and placement. Small tattoos may be quoted as a flat rate, while larger or ongoing projects are typically charged per the piece. The shop minimum is $125.
Do you require tips?
Tips are never required but always appreciated. Think of them like tipping a hairstylist or barber - a way to show gratitude for the time, care, and detail put into your tattoo.
What forms of payment do you accept?
Payments can be made by cash, card, or Venmo.
Before & After Your Appointment
What should I bring to my consultation?
Bring any reference images, sketches, or color palettes that help explain your idea. Double check spelling on any text. If you have a budget, let’s discuss that too - size, placement, and color can all affect pricing.
What should I do to prepare for my appointment?
• Get plenty of rest the night before.
• Eat a solid meal and stay hydrated.
• Do not drink alcohol or take blood thinners 24 hours before.
• Avoid sunburns - tattoos cannot be done on sunburned skin!
• Wear comfortable clothing that gives easy access to the area being tattooed. Ink can stain fabric, so avoid anything you wouldn’t want marked.
• Bring water and a light snack. A sweatshirt or layer is a good idea, as studios can feel chilly when part of your body is uncovered.
